Weather station shutdown

Hello Olds and Central Alberta Weather Watchers,

All great things must come to an end eventually, and this is the end of this site.  The Westside Olds weather station will be ceasing operation December 16, 2010 due to relocating away from Olds. I’ll still be in the area and will most likely be broadcasting live weather from my new location – but it won’t be as relevant to Olds residents.

History Data is no longer available on Weather Underground.  I still have raw text files of this data (May 2006 to Dec 2010)

History WebCam 1:

History WebCam2:

Hoped you enjoyed the service while it was available.  Happy weather watching.

Jeff

  • Hi Jeff!

Thank you for your weather service. I have relied on it since neither Environment Canada nor the Weather network have a weather station in Olds, but rather in Sundre. We both know that when it comes to Alberta weather, that is not close enough nor accurate enough for Olds. We will indeed miss you. Best to you in your future endeavors! Merry Christmas and happy New Year!

  • Thanks for all your kind words. I’m also going to miss it, so it probably won’t be down for too long. I just need to do some long over due maintenance on the system before bring it back up. Also need some nice weather before I climb up onto the roof.

This blog site will remain after the main site drops sometime Friday morning. as Telus cuts the line off. So just bookmark http://weather.bluevistaventures.ca/blog/ to watch for any news.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
